Church Overview

The most complete Romanesque church in the area. Former chapel of Cruggleton Castle set in a walled burial ground, restored 1890s by William B M Galloway for the 3rd Marquess of Bute. The outside is largely a conjectural reconstruction with new work delineated by a line of red tiles. Inside, the magnificent chancel arch is mostly of the 12th century.

Ecumenical service, involving Church of Scotland, Roman Catholic and Episcopal communities, on first Sunday of September each year, 3.00 pm
